Srinagar Jan 13 (KNO) : Lashing out at ruling dispensation (PDP BJP) for failures on all counts, the J&K Pradesh Congress Committee(JKPCC) Chief G.A. Mir urged upon the cadres to take on PDP BJP exposing them for adopting double standards for the sake of power, saying that PDP is in habit of using different languages to mislead people to get benefitted politically, G.A.Mir was addressing a largely attended workers meeting in Srinagar today. Addressing the meeting, JKPCC Chief hit out at PDP for changing colours like chameleon for the sake of power even this Party sacrificed its ideology and joined hands with communal and fascist forces for the sake of power, as a result, people were feeling exploited and betrayed, besides there is a great anger among the people because. He said PDP BJP cannot escape the responsibility of damages caused to peace process, as that, both the Parties have exploited people for power, responsible for restlessness and mistrust among the people. Urging Party cadres to gear up for Panchayat Polls being conducted shortly, G.A. Mir said Congress Party is committed to strengthen the democratic institutions of the state, but at the sametime, he blamed the ruling dispensation for playing deceits over democratic process in the State, which has lost relevance under PDP BJP rule, but Congress Party will ensure that the authority of democratic institutions are not eroded, although the ruling dispensation has already done great damages, but Congress Party will continue to strengthen these institutions benefitting people from grass roots level, G.A. Mir said. Stating that this Party (PDP) with the fear of loosing Anantnag Lok Sabha ensured deferment of Parliamentary Elections on the pretext of deteriorating situation, now the ruling Parties are going to hold Panchayat Elections, but I want to ask the Govt as to what measures it will take to ensure safety and security of the contestants, for the fact, the situation in Kashmir valley has further deteriorated. This Govt cannot be trusted because it will anytime escape or take U-Turn after sensing defeat in these elections also. PCC Chief said people had a bitter experience as to what PDP has done in Kashmir and BJP in Jammu, as both the Parties are working to strengthen themselves only rather than strengthening people. Corruption, nepotism, favoritism has become a hallmark PDP, as a result, they (People) have no expectations from this Govt or PDP BJP leading to their isolation, there is a complete mistrust among the people. Referring to the communal, fascist forces that are being strengthened by BJP in the Country, PCC Chief said that PDP’s joining hands with communal forces vitiated the peaceful atmosphere in the valley, as that, there is great anger among the people against communal forces hell bent upon to divide people on religious lines, but it is the PDP which has enabled the communal forces to make inroads in the state, for which it will have to pay heavy price. Adding that Congress being the only unifying forces alone can defeat communal fascist forces in the Country, G.A. Mir said that Congress has fought against these forces to maintain secular fabric of the country and is capable enough to safeguard the diversity, unity and communal harmony in the country, Congress Party will never compromise on its ideology for power, will ensure that the anti -peace forces are defeated tooth and nail. G.A. Mir urged upon the Party Cadres to remain steadfast to serve the people to the best of their ability and ensure that problems confronting people are addressed, as that, people are facing great difficulties due to the wrong and anti-people policies adopted by the PDP BJP in the State. Among others who addressed the meeting included Vice President Mohd Anwar Bhat, District Presidents, Contesting Candidates, Block Presidents and others.(KNO)
